No ER (for now)

Dr. B called back and said to wait until tomorrow to take Luke back to the hospital. Cool him down with washcloths, give him suppository Tylenol and a cool bath, etc, etc. I was all upset because I have seen people get weird things from hospitals and NOT GOOD outcomes. Luke is the type of kid who will get these things and doesn't just get them a little bit, he gets REALLY sick. Also, we can't get him to take the oral meds anymore so no antibiotic. Doesn't he need to be in the hospital with an IV of antibiotics? We are watching him closely (translation---not leaving my sight) and will keep checking. If the fever still persists through the morning we will take him in. I am annoyed with Dr. B for not being more concerned though---105 in a 2 year old who just had surgery and you are not concerned? Huh? I almost want to call Luke's pediatrician because she knows Luke. I feel like the specialist doesn't know Luke and probably thinks we are exaggerating and overreacting. Yes I can do that but not with things like this where I need to give specific numbers!

If you are reading this, you are probably wondering how I have so much time to keep posting on this blog thing. Luke is not allowed to leave the house so no one else is either. We are all here playing games and fighting and sleeping and posting on blogs and reading. Not much else to do....but WORRY!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I need to post the picture Sophie drew of Luke getting a suppository. It is quite humorous.

Aww, not what I wanted to see. Keep us posted! I would call his ped, too. When Mark was in the hospital and in a lot of pain, the on-call doc didn't want to give him pain meds so I almost called Mark's doctor (his wife is my therapist so I have her cell number, home number, pager, work number, home e-mail, work e-mail....no way, I couldn't get a hold of Mark's doctor)...it was midnight. If it weren't for the middle of the night, I would have....that's because I'm a worrywart. And I can't imagine having to go through that with a child who is completely dependent on you.

Thinking of you....so sorry I bombarded you with e-mails when you're dealing with so much. :(

That is priceless!! I've never heard Luke scream at Sophie like that before. It must be the medicine!!

I think Luke must be getting better!
